IN THE BEGINNING

The Iningai people were one of the largest Aboriginal tribes in Central West Queensland. Their territory of 19,500 sq. miles is west of the dividing range to Longreach; north to Aramac and Muttaburra.

The Yumbangku Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and Tourism Development Aboriginal Corporation (YACHATDAC) based in Barcaldine, has been formed by key members ofthe Traditional custodian families of the Iningai lands in Central Western Queensland.

The board is comprised of 80% Aboriginal and 20% Non-Aboriginal members. YACHATDAC Yambangku Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and TourismD evelopment Aboriginal Corporation (YACHATDAC) is a non-for-profit Aboriginal Corporation which was formed in 2016 by local traditional custodians of the Iningai Nation.

YACHATDAC is situated in Outback Central Western Queensland and was established to address the need for not only the continued protection and preservation of our cultural heritage assets, caring for country and reawakening of culture, but to also facilitate the sharing of cultural knowledge as a business and to continue to share our culture and values for the many generations to come.
